Course Description: The American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relive choking in a safe, timely and effective manner.
- High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants
- The AHA Chain of Survival, specifically the BLS components
- Use of an AED
- Effective ventilations using a barrier device
- Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults, children and infants
Who Needs the American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR? Nurses, Doctors, Firefighters, EMT’s, Paramedics, Dentist, Dental Assistants, Nursing Students, EMT Students, Certified Nursing Assistants, Medical Assistants, Police Officers, Phlebotomists, Medical Students, Park Rangers
Materials Needed for Class: The American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers Student Manual (available through AHA Authorized Distributer located on the AHA website or at our training center)
HeartCode ® BLS: After completing the American Heart Association HeartCode BLS eLearning component online, students can attend our American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Course Instructor-led course that focuses on meaningful skills practice, debriefing, team scenarios, discussions of local protocols and skills testing. Where available, students may also complete the hands-on portion with a voice-assisted manikin.
Upon Completion: Participants that complete training will receive their AHA BLS Certification Card, valid for two years, approximately 24 - 48 hours after completing their course.
